Crumpler's Ridiculously Ludicrous Debacle

If you’re anything like me, then you’re amazing and awesome (LOL). Also, you’re slightly disorganized when it comes to packing. You’re the type who likes to grab your things then randomly stuff them into your bag and set off to where your amazing day will take you. Luckily for us, Crumpler’s got us covered.

The Crumpler Ludicrous Debacle is a bag for someone who lives a grab-and-go lifestyle. Seriously, you can bring whatever you’ll need for what you’re doing today -- stuff them right inside this bag and just walk out the door without so much second thought. Going to the gym? Bring a towel, two extra shirts, your wallet, car keys and water bottle. Going to school? Be sure to bring your laptop, your text book, a notebook, your extra pens and all those bond papers you call your homework. Heck, bring your iPad while you’re at it. Not the Mini one – the big one. It’s tempting to think that I’m stretching the truth a bit here, but no, the bag can hold it all! I. REALLY. TRIED.

At first glance, you see nothing but a funky-colored messenger bag. A closer inspection will show you that the Crumpler Ludicrous Debacle uses Field Twill, which is extremely tough and water resistant. This is the same material that they use for thick outerwear, so yes, it will keep your stuff dry through any downpour.

With this bag, you’ll notice a clear lack of zippers, prompting instead for dual velcro fasteners that allow for more convenient access for you, but less access to anyone else. The strap is designed to be edgeless, which means that it is guaranteed not to ruin your most sensitive of clothing even while you carry this bag throughout the day. Its 38mm total length and QuickFlick™ buckle make it easy to adjust to any position that is most convenient and comfortable for you.

The beauty of the Ludicrous Debacle bag is not only on the outside; the party continues on the inside. It has two storage zones: the main compartment where you can put in all of your stuff, and a front pocket big enough to fit a regular iPad or any A4 sized documents. And as is unique to Crumpler, the color inside are a stark contrast to the color outside, making a bold statement every time you reach inside. That is, unless you chose black, because you only get black with the black.

What I appreciated most about the Ludicrous Debacle is its size. It’s big enough to use as an everyday bag, but it’s also small enough to not be a burden when traveling. More than an everyday bag, it’s an everything bag. Seriously, I can’t imagine anything you wouldn’t put into this bag. It’s tough enough to withstand the elements, secure enough to keep prying hands away, and can function in either a formal work setting or a casual weekend outing. It’s the smaller cousin to my own bag, The Hoax, which is exactly what I use every day.

Oh, and in case you were wondering: “ludicrous” means something laughable or amusing, or eccentric, while “debacle” means a great disaster, or a complete failure. Put together, it means that you have a foolish and exaggerated failure. The name in itself is an irony – there is hardly anything to be considered a laughable failure here and to think so would be a ridiculously ludicrous debacle indeed.
