Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7- and 10.1-inch) Launched and Priced

Who says we can't have a tablet, a phone, a multimedia gadget, a gaming device, a navigator and more in just one device? With the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 we can have it all.

Samsung Philippines has recently launched the Galaxy Tab 2, which comes in 3 models - the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" WiFi, the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0' 3G+WiFi, and the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1" 3G+WiFi. To make it fun and entertaining to us media folks, they unleashed these three devices in a form of a short musical starring Nyoy Volante as "Sam."

The story actually revolved around Sam and his crush Franchesca. Through the use of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, not only was he able to clearly record his Youtube video, but he was also able to quickly share it via social networking sites, which enabled Franchesca to regonize him. In the end, both of them met, they sang together, and as they say - the rest is history.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 devices get us all connected wherever we are. Activities such as reading books and articles, recording videos, sharing contents, creating multiple media items, and storing any file in just one device are all possible with this new powerful product, definitely making it easier to let go of the old, painstaking ways to do things.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" WiFi has an SRP of Php12,990, while the 3G+WiFi version is selling at only Php16,990. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1" 3G+WiFi can be yours at an affordable price of Php21,990. Again, these devices doubles (or even quadruples) as a phone, tablet and many more into one device.

I was able to try out the Galaxy Tab 2 and I must say that it's responsive, relatively fast with its 1GHz dual-core processor. It runs on an up-to-date Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, which can later on be upgraded to Jelly Bean.

The body is thin and the overall weight is very much light and handy. Although it feels a bit of plasticky as with other Samsung Galaxy devices, the software makes up for it and doesn't make it less of a great device. I prefer the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 2, since I don't like lugging around a huge tablet - reason why I'm no longer using my old one after getting a Galaxy S3.

All versions of the Galaxy Tab 3 features both front (VGA) and rear (3MP) facing cameras for quick snapping of pictures and video calls. It has an expansion slot for an additional 32GB microSD memory capacity. It also works even with Flash!

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is now available at the Samsung retailers nationwide. Visit and like the Samsung Philippines Facebook page for more updates.
